Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Nice gluten free pizza restaurant. The atmosphere is vibrant and the waiters are nice. We got Raúl as our waiter, someone who did his job amazingly. The pizzas overall taste great and the ingredients are fresh, but it would be appreciated if they weren’t that overcooked, as the borders and the bottom were burnt."
"Wonderful and attentive service here at this location. Andres took phenomenal care of my party and I that we enjoyed it so much. He was super kind throughout the entire process. We came here for dinner but ended up leaving with a five star experience. Will be back again, most definitely!!"
"Attentive service. Pizza and calzone done in record time. Ingredients and dough were prime. Family oriented. Good atmosphere."
"My partner C and I stumbled across Senza Glutine di Grosso Napolitano on Calle de Sta Engracia in the Chamberi while wandering the streets of Madrid. The March weather was unusually cool and damp, so we were looking for some “comfort food” to take away the chills, but nothing too heavy. This establishment fit the bill perfectly, having a woodfired pizza oven in a warm, easy going and unpretentious atmosphere. Their specialty is offering gluten-free pizza dough with a wide variety of toppings. Once sat, we each ordered a beer in keeping with the easy going, back to basics vibe. My partner had the 500 ml bottle of Amarcord La Gradisca Senza Glutine – an Italian artisanal “gluten-free” lager that uses malted barley from 3 areas of southern Italy. I opted for the smaller gluten free 330 ml bottle of locally produced Estrella Damm “Daura” Lager. Described as “the most Mediterranean, only available in Grosso Napoletano Barcelona”. This light-bodied lager has aromas of malt, citrus and hops, and while it is fermented with grains containing gluten, it is crafted to remove gluten. Very easy and pleasant to drink with no hoppy aftertaste. We started with our go-to “Insalata di Cesare”. But what a great and unique surprise: big leafy French lettuce under diced avocado, leccino olives, salted ricotta, coutons and pumpkin seeds in a delicious creamy dressing. Incredibly good and a must have if visiting. We kept it simple and light and shared the Diavola pizza, with a San Marzano tomato base, spicy Neapolitan salami, fiordilatte – a fresh mozzarella, and basil leaves. The crust was soft in the middle, and the toppings were so simple, yet so fulfilling and delicious. We ended the meal sharing the Sorrento al Pistacchio – a scoop of Cremoso de limoncello ice cream with crema de pistachio topping. Magic ! We took advantage of the pop up invitation to join the mail list, we received a 15% discount as well as a complementary glass of a delicious cantaloupe Meloncello liquor - from Nastro d’Oro. A lovely, sweet ending to a simple and delicious meal. In summary, Senza Glutine di Grosso Napolitano is definitely worth visiting for an easy-going bite to eat when visiting Madrid. The Insalate Cersare is a must order for a unique and delicious take on the classic Caesar salad. You probably cannot go wrong with any of the pizza offerings. And the two beers we had complemented our meal perfectly. Three cheers for the spot !"
"We had a super lovely server who treated us incredibly well! We came here twice while visiting Madrid and you cannot tell the difference between these and regular (non gluten free) pizza bases - they are delicious. The limoncello spritz was also wonderful, as was the caprese salad and the complimentary melloncello shots given to us! Definitely worth a visit if ever in Madrid. Thank you!"
"By far the best gluten free pizza that I have had...and I've had many...globally :) Excellent ingredients and consistent quality over and over. Highly recommended."
"It was a short stop for a pizza and two bears, we had a diavola with recommended parmesan cream and olives. For my taste the pizza was a bit salty but nice dough and super friendly staff."
"We ordered cheese and salad for appetizers and pizzas for each of us. The appetizers were delicious and the pizzas were amazing, we couldn't believe it was all gluten free. My son can't eat gluten and he was ecstatic that he could have such a nice pizza. Service was awesome too, everyone was very nice."
